McDonnell wants to show Virginia the way out of liquor business:
Many others, including some religious conservatives in McDonnell's party, are fearful that privatizing alcohol sales will lead to a glut of liquor stores and a rise in drunken driving and other alcohol-related problems.
please explain to me, in detail, exactly how having 2 stores in a small town owned by private companies will actually lead to more drunk driving than having 1 store owned by the state?

also explain to me, in detail, why the licensing board can't consider quantity of regional stores and proximity of a store to other stores in deciding whether or not to license the location?

also explain to me why a phased process of opening up hard liquor sales, say be keeping the "closing time" of said sales to 7pm, then a period of adjustment to 8, then 9, eventually to the same midnight that ends cheap beer sales, might not provide the evidence for the idea that later hard-liquor sales in stores increases public drunkenness.

seriously, i want you to explain it to me. i want to see some real reasoning for reasons other thinking "all drinking must be bad", because, well, Jesus didn't seem to think so 2000 years ago when he performed his first miracle, nor when he ate his last supper.

You have some 45+ other states with private alcohol stores to look at for your evidence, so feel free to use them.
