U.S. swept Women's Sabre, 1 2 3.  Not a hit on the Chinese, but certainly a hit on the Europeans...

If you have DirectTV in HD, there's some special effects your remote can do to get info on all the DTV coverage.  Tune to UHD or MSNBC and wait a bit.

I didn't get to the coverage today until about 11am, during the broadcast of US-Japan volleyball, so I probably missed any highlights from the sabre. Glad it was broadcast, though.

And glad to see the sweep.

I was delighted to finally see some coverage of fencing. But still a little bitter, because I know NBC wouldn't have bothered if the U.S. hadn't been in the medal round.

I recall an ad not long ago, in which NBC promised coverage of every sport (not necessarily live, of course) between their various cable channels. I hope they follow through -- I don't at all care about track&field or gymnastics, but I really do want to see some martial arts, more fencing, soccer, and field hockey.

I think the promised complete coverage included the online selections, which are surprisingly thorough, and can be seen live or later at your leisure.

I saw some of the fencing with tired bleary eyes late last night, and saw a bit of dressage this morning.

I found this link:
http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/olympics/The_full_NBC_Universal_2008_Olympics_TV_broadcast_schedule.html

Which claims to have all the broadcast schedules (though the 'lesser' sports will get their 10 minutes crammed into a 12 hour broadcast). The on-line stuff that Java mentions is fun. I loved the test by Brazil's Totsie.

Oh. And if they didn't want me to install a whole new video player, maybe that would be a valid option. (I mean, maybe I'll do it at home, but I don't think I'm gonna do that to my work computer...)
