I do these things by having a lack of a life. :)

Let's look at you. Joe is:
- A gregarious person
- An organized person

Therefore, Joe leads a well organized, gregarious life. Dude, the trouble is all you.

That much said, some things are more spontaneous than others. The typical American family comedy has dad "planning to watch the big game." Most folk that I know who watch games plan for it. They protect that time. There ain't nothin' spontaneous about it.

Spontaneity, I think, is at odds with people herding. To be spontaneous means knowing other people who have free time, then doing stuff with them. If you want to be most successful, you need to plan. If you want to be spontaneous, you need to accept that 70-80% of those you know will be busy.

Very spontaneous people live in a spontaneous way. They learn how to get tickets at the last moment, who tends to be free, how to weasel out of social commitments until the last minute, and so forth. There's a whole host of skills that come with living in the last minute.
