Is the grand selection of tunes you just can't do 'cause they're all breakup songs. A great selection of hits, many hitting number one, that just say "well, this marriage has a great future ahead of it..."
Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin' (Journey), Do you really want to hurt me (culture club), Pictures of You (the Cure...I love how its being used as a postive thing in that commercial, considering its one of Smith's most depressing lyrics ever), about half of Billy Joel's repotoire, Harden my Heart, Always something there to remind me AND promises promises (makes you wonder if the reason Naked Eyes didn't have another hit was 'cause they committed suicide soon after writing the damn songs), Seagull's I Ran (why did that end up included in the wedding singer?), Men at Work's Its a Mistake (lyrically unrelated to romance at all, but still...).
Or things that just say, maybe a little too much about what kinda marriage it is? (This Woman's Work, Kate Bush...or on the other side, Madness's Our House and House of Fun...'cept i'll play those anyways 'cause they're just great songs)
And hell, I'm not even talking about the great music that goes with lyrics that just go "what are these doing together like that?" (Suzanne Vega's Luka?)
of course, then there's groups' secondary songs that you just wanna play to piss people off...if i actually didn't like either my mom or my future mother-in-law, you can guarentee that The Police's "Mother" would be in the set list...
