i'm thankful for trustworthy friends...

My office mate returned from a 3 week long safari  + a few days in Rome to find that somehow his cats ended up missing.  Given the cold we've been through since he left (he left in January, when it was still above 50 most of the time), if they some how escaped the house he fears the worst.

I'm assuming that he had a cat-sitter coming in and checking on them, not that they were left alone in the house for almost a month. And that this cat-sitter may have released them accidentally.

yes a house-sitter, and yes, *something* went wrong, but then again, the house-sitter didn't seem to be doing much about it.

not sure how much he and the housesitter were friends, mind you. don't know all the details and its not worth prying.

but that was my point - i've got friends i can trust with the babies, even through a rabbit on its last legs.

True. Same here. And that you know would try to contact you *when* it happened. Not that they would let it happen.

well, being in safari in africa kinda precludes getting emails or phone calls about this sort of thing.

however, there had been no filings with the animal shelters, no flyers made (granted the person might not have known where to get pictures of the cats), etc.

I feel for him. I hope they're just over at a neighbor's place, curled up on a bed all warm and happy.
