We finally finished Firefly and Serenity...so that's 2 dvd sets out of the backlog.

Now the question is: Earth 2, Space: Above and Beyond, or Galactica?

or the movie backlog?

or the anime backlog?

or go get something new (or old) ?  Briscoe?

or there's the torrented Casanova staring Dr. Who's David Tennant (and produced by Who's RTD)?

*sigh*

Dont forget Animaniacs or pinky and the Brain.

I didn't know Earth 2 and Space Above and Beyond were out on video yet.

yup, they is. and i knew it was out but i never saw animaniacs in a store or i would have gotten it by now.

i keep needing to see one that doesn't suck, 'cause after everybody saying how cool it was (and hearing excerpts), every time i tried to watch one it would suck 'cause it would have stupid shit like the damn pigeons or that baby boom kid. as such, i never got into it.

on the other hand, i adored Tazmania, so there you go.

of course, the other question is why Animaniacs yet not Tiny Toons?

Because Animaniacs fans put forth a petition. It took about a year, but it worked. Just because you don't get it, doesn't mean it sucks. I feel the same way about Tiny Toons, so, there it is. Different strokes.

If thats the new Galactica then I would suggest that. If you finish by October you'll be ready for the season 3 start.

not necessarilly because 2.5 won't be out on dvd 'til november so we'll still be 12 episodes behind.

and we're not ones for actually watching shows "while they're on", especially not during faire season, so we still wouldn't actually watch season 3 'til THAT comes out on dvd.

and we've already seen Who season 2 (which appearantly will get the 9pm spot just before 10pm's galactica) so that's not an incentive either.

really, we're just not the "neilson" family by any standard.

Earth 2, Space: Above and Beyond, or Galactica

Are all of those things you've never seen before? Because if so, I would vote for watching them in chronological (production) order. I think that would be S:AAB, then Earth 2, then BSG -- but check IMDB to make sure.

The new BSG often reminds me of S:AAB anyway. Hm, do the S:AAB DVDs have any interesting extras?

i've had E2 and SAAB on vhs for ages (they're promised to [livejournal.com profile] motherwell next time i see him), taped off their sci-fi channel runs in the mid-90s (after having gotten addicted to them thanks to my ex- while they were still on the networks). sundays in the early 90s was the last time i was home "religiously" for tv watching on a consistent basis. by 96, my faire addiction pretty much took that away, too.

i don't think cyd's seen SAAB, and its been years since she saw E2 (well, years for me too as the only vhs tapes i pull out these days are dr. who's).

SAAB is really a variation on starship troopers ;-)

i haven't dug into them enough to know what the extras are (hell, they're still not unwrapped yet - as i said, "backlog"). glance at amazon or wikipedia as they usually have that kind of info.

Of the three sci-fi mentioned, BG is the best.
But the other two have their own goodness.
I recall Earth 2 more than Space:A&B

I have the Briscoe set on my must-get list, I recall that show quite fondly.

I guess you aren't a fan of Goodfellas...

Probably a good idea to work on Galactica It is pretty good.

I've always been a fan of Briscoe County Jr. I think it is probably the best work that Bruce Campbell did.

As for anime, I highly recommend Gankutsuou. It is a sci-fi version of "The Count Of Monte Cristo". So far, it is following the book very closely, with its own little wrinkles.
