Meet the new boss...
Jan. 6th, 2007 12:17 am...same as the old boss.
Ed Brayton @ Dispatches gives an essay on how Pelosi and friends are already showing their hypocrisy by how in 2004 they demanded ample minority input and ample time to read the bills before voting, complaints that really had their origins in the 100 days portion of Uncle Newt's "Contract", yet now have this "100 hour agenda" that's ramming bills through with no Republican input whatsoever.
Meanwhile, the proposed ethics reforms still leaves the same "non-profit" loopholes that lobbyists can drive a semi through (and are damned skilled at doing), effectively solving none of the problems of corruption that damned the Republicans this year.
As the Onion posted, "Politicians won a clean sweep in the November Elections"...
And this, of course, distracts the Congress and the Nation from yet another "Signing Statement" from the Hell that is the mind of G. W. Bush, asserting against the very law he signed that he has the right to ready any piece of REAL mail he wants without warrant.
Me: "I don't know why I bother sometimes."
Rest of the World: "I don't know why you bother ever."
