finally sick of winter...

but for a completely different reason than most.

its not the snow, or the idiots who can't drive in it

its not the cold in and of itself

its not the sneezing and sniffles that never go away (they're with me during the summer, too)

its not having to warm the car up for five minutes or it stalls at the first quick-stop redlight i come across

its not the need to get a cup of coffee to keep warm

its the coat.

its the damned coat.

the big, bulky, i can't move my damn arms, every time i turn i hit something, i can't get the damned seatbelt to shut past it 'cause the thing keeps getting in the way, why can't the damned scarf stay tucked in there, geeze this thing weighs a ton, i'm always too hot in the car within 5 minutes, crap i forgot i left my work keys in the other jacket back when it wasn't so damn cold, i hate it when i take it off 'cause i'm statically charged for the next hour coat.

sigh.

and i've at least another week needing it.

Discovery Kids has a page in support of their Prehistoric Planet series (where they take the British "Walking With..." series and redo the naration for kids), where you can enter your zip code and see a list of some of the dinos who might have been in your neighborhood 65 to 225 million years ago!

(of course, they *might* just be doing it to collect zip code statistics, but i'm not that paranoid ;-) ).
