this story...

1) he knows what he's going to say is mostly fluff, won't hold true at all, and sets an agenda he would need to accomplish (or at least be in the direction of accomplishing) before november, which is likely impossible.

2) he knows that as a supporter of big business and media conglomerates, the last thing he wants to do is offend them by having them lose their may sweeps advertising dollars...

either way, its stupid.

The U.S. military says troops found no signs of a wedding in the wreckage left at the remote hamlet of Mogr al-Deeb. But a spokesman, Brigadier General Mark Kimmitt, conceded Saturday that six women were killed in the strike and a celebration may have been taking place: "Bad people have parties too," he said.

when they produce lines like "Nichols Prosecutors May Seek Death Penalty" [emphasis mine, source: AP].

I'm going "like DUH!"????

If they weren't going to seek the death penalty, they wouldn't have brought him to trial in the first place. They would have accepted his request for a guilty plea with life in prison (no parole) if they didn't want to kill him.

sheesh, do these guys not know what they write, or know their recent history?
