A Big Stink Brews with Google...
Apr. 16th, 2004 01:38 pmAppearantly, Google's new GMail free email service works by parsing for keywords in your messages in order to pluck out phrases for adding advertisements into the messages (or as attachments), using the same technology Google uses in its Web, News, and Usenet engines.
And some people think that's a big problem.
Doesn't matter to me, I'll never use it (or any free email service).

Date: 2004-04-16 10:44 am (UTC)Actually, I've gotten almost no spam from Yahoo... unfortunately, I've more than hit the point where I'm getting more spam than 'real' e-mail almost every day... which is pretty pitiful, considering the mailing lists I'm on now, a few as individual mailings as well...
But, geez... someone wants something for free and then complains about a little advertising? Duh... idiots...
