low how the mighty have fallen...

`Let's Make a Deal' returning; Wayne Brady to host - Yahoo! News:
The game show "Let's Make a Deal" is coming back to daytime television.

CBS says that an updated version of the show will debut Oct. 5, with Wayne Brady as host. The network says that the premise of audience members trying to win cash and prizes by making "wacky deals" will be intact.

It will just not be the same without Monty Hall.

perhaps, but he is a consultant to it, and i doubt they'll rename the statistical challenge the "Wayne Brady" problem any time soon.

As long as it doesn't become a "Wayne Brady dungeon crawl".

I would say that he is merely following in the "successful" footsteps of his good friend, Drew Carey. Although no one would say that Drew is another Bob Barker, he finally handles the duties of game show host (read=contestant wrangler) almost gracefully. It took him quite a while to get this far. I would also say that Wayne Brady has a much shorter road to success in this venue. He seems to me the perfect fit for a LMaD revival. Plus, if they keep the costumed contestant angle, Wayne can definitely sympathize with the contestants having had experience as "the best damn Tigger ever" at Walt Disney World.

Being a game show aficionado myself, I look forward to the attempt.
