oh good grief...

This may be a great day for America, but it is NOT "better than Christmas".

Well, that would depend on your religious beliefs, right?
Plus, there are some people, even Christians, who don't enjoy Christmas.
I'm not one of them, mind (either Christian or one of those who don't enjoy Christmas - I love Christmas, in a Pagan secular sense). But there are some.

Bah, humbug.

You're right. At Christmas, I get presents. Today, I just get a new president. *grin*

Well, it's better than secular Christmas. And since if you're not Christian, the story of Christ's birth leads inexorably to the pointless, painful death of an impressive leader...I'll go with better than Xmas, too.

;)

Hmm, no required time with family with a herd of Drama Llamas. A holiday for some people that actually makes sense for it to be a holiday. People of multiple races, creeds, heritages and religions all celebrating together and getting respect for their humanity and not being shunned for their differences. No "someone got run over by a motorcade" type song? No 30 days of music for something that isn't relevant to you.

Yes, I think it is better than Christmas.
