Collage of the Day: Snowdon, North Wales, 2005

yeah it's kinda turning into that "of the day" thing, isn't it?

I've never been to Wales. It looks a lot like Glencoe, Scotland!

up to a point (same mountains, geologically speaking). Glencoe is much bigger. Snowdon is the only peak over 3000 in North Wales, where-as the mountains around Glencoe are above 3000 feet across a stretch three miles long.

I didn't get the chance to get into Glencoe - our trip in 2000 was originally going to hit it on our way from Caithness to Oban (Runrig was playing a concert), but a lorry refusing to break 30mph all along Loch Ness kinda slowed us down to the point that all we had time to get was a photo of the nearby Ben Nevis distillery. :)

The next day back to Caithness was a full one with Eilean Donan Castle (Highlander and other films - see icon) and Dunvegan, so no time to go back inland.
