Just goes to show that even a morris dancer can be reformed enough to be considered respectable. :-)

Seriously, though, congratulations and best wishes on the next 50 years.

You have now beat the statistics. Don't let you go to your head.

I believe I am paraphrasing Mark Twain with, "Gettin married is the easy thing in the world. I done it dozens of times.." (I will use this in it's correct quote later over at [livejournal.com profile] dashrippington) for is stop smoking) Actually, I have only been married twice, once for 4 years and this time coming on 8 years of working, living, and playing together. The problems have been there, but we are dedicated and both understand that when it comes down to it, a marriage isnt' built on deep passionate love, but deep passionate companionship...that and someone to wipe you chin when your 90...
Seriouslly, nothing can bond a team like deep physical illness. My bout with serious lyme disease has done wonders for us.

Congratulations and may you both now many many more.
