The roads over here are slicker than they should be for the inch of snow we've had. I ran out to taco bell, and saw an abandoned SUV, presumably stuck going up a slight hill. My traction control light came on a lot, which is unusual.
katrinb's parents would disagree with you. They came down today to deliver her cell, and they were saying that a lot of people were having problems out there. They ended up taking the beltway back because it was at least moving (at 20 MPH).
Personally, I've been holed up watching football most of the day.
Robert (son) went out earlier and reported the st00pid people were out in force. Something about a moron doing 15 mph on Rt. 1 (northbound) and other people who didn't understand that bridges are slick.
I voted to stay indoors m'self. heh
the icon is my attempt at sarcasm weak though it may be ......
I went for a drive with my friend Kris (who likes and CAN drive in the snow safely)through the Shenandoah Valley yesterday (Sunday). Within ONE hour we encountered TEN overturned vehicles. Two of them were head on and CLEARLY the result of wreckless speed. I stopped counting after ten. Yes, we encountered many more on the route back home.
I also found it funny that as we made our way around some of the wrecks you could SEE the impatient expression of the drivers on the opposing traffic lane. Then when they could go it was HYSTERICAL watching them take off like a bat out of hell and then start slipping and spinning...like the wreck they just passed was NOT warning ENOUGH to slow the hell down. Stupidity and pathetic impatience knows NO bounds. WORST part, most of these morons had CHILDREN in the back seats!!! I was watching expensive vehicles to rolling wrecks do the same damned thing.
Anyway, Shenandoah was pretty in the snow...where there weren't any bloody mcmansion developments that is!

Anything less than 3" and I'm not going to bother shovelling the driveway.

I hold myself up with 80s on 8. I simply never changed the channel after AT40 ended, and its been a good run with not too many rap/hiphop numbers.
Still the occasional weird transition, like going from Loverboy's Turn Me Loose to Katrina and the Waves' one hit Walking on Sunshine.
But hey, when in 80s mode, it's all good.
