why am i...

...seemingly the only one who really doesn't give a single drop of shit about Tom Cruise's damn wedding?

Or at least, the most tired of seeing it in the top "most important headlines".  Doesn't Reuters have anything better to do on a weekend?

Update: new icony goodness for such badness... :)

Silent majority?

Whose wedding?

[identity profile] faireraven.livejournal.com 2006-11-19 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Your wife doesn't give a shit either.

Feh.

Sorry, I lost all respect for the man when he said that post-partum depression was a myth and it could all be overcome by effort of will.

That, and when he jumped over the couch.

They're a couple of celebs getting married. Big deal? If it were a president, king, queen, or any other major political figure, then sure, follow the weddings for the political implications. But celebs? Feh.

Nether do I!

...Tom Cruise got married?

Wow. I'm out of it.

[identity profile] wench18.livejournal.com 2006-11-19 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I thought he was married already?

[identity profile] acroyear70.livejournal.com 2006-11-20 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
he and nicole kidman divorsed years ago. he was seen with penelope cruz for a little while, but finally found someone who would buy into the scientology b.s. with him.

[identity profile] wench18.livejournal.com 2006-11-20 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
I just can't keep up with those people.

[identity profile] acroyear70.livejournal.com 2006-11-20 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
i don't want to be able to, but i can't avoid it when stupid celebrity/personality type b.s. makes it to the "regular" headlines.

[identity profile] bronxelf-ag001.livejournal.com 2006-11-20 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
Because the only other thing they have to report on apparently is how fucking stupid people have to be to spend upwards of $500 for a gaming console (and trampling, beating, robbing and shooting one another in the process) that if one just waited until after the new year to seek out, one could have no problem obtaining.

I'm not sure which is the bigger group of idiots- the TomKat people, or these morons.

[identity profile] caseylane.livejournal.com 2006-11-20 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
Oh trust me, I am beyond caring. I've hated that smug, pompus ass since Risky Business and now gladly sit back and tell everyone "I Told You So". I just wish Katie's parents would hire a kidnapper to get her away from that freak.

[identity profile] i-kissandra.livejournal.com 2006-11-20 12:35 pm (UTC)(link)
You're not alone. If I never see another "news" item about celebrity crap...

[identity profile] mizjawnson.livejournal.com 2006-11-20 02:01 pm (UTC)(link)
To me, this just smacks of the Wedding that Wasn't of Bennifer (Version Lopez). It was the same type of constant coverage and media stalking that's happening now.

I'd say something else, but I'd start offending people left and right if I did.

Tom Cruise, Tom Cruise.....

Wasn't he the wacked out cadet in Taps?

[identity profile] acroyear70.livejournal.com 2006-11-20 03:35 pm (UTC)(link)
i *assume* that's sarcasm.

but if not, then no, that was Sean Penn who married Madonna and is now married to the Princess Bride herself, Robin Wright(-Penn).

[identity profile] sequentialscott.livejournal.com 2006-11-20 04:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, that was sarcasm. But Tom Cruise was in Taps too. He was the gung-ho wacko cadet, while Sean Penn was the more reasonable balanced one. Both were lieutenants to Timothy Hutton's cadet commander.
