gas update

Post in your blog a specific example that you have seen (as opposed to having read or heard from someone else) of a rediculous price-jump in gasoline this week.

Yesterday's observation of the 0.21 was tame.  The worst is one that was read on the air yesterday (it was so rediculous I had to drive by today to confirm).  The "U.S. Petroleum" station at Church and Holly in Sterling jumped from $2.65 to $3.55!!!  Yes, 0.90 in a matter of hours.

The rediculous part is that the 7-11/Citgo next to it is still at $2.79!

The other large jump I saw was the Blimpie/BP (serving Amoco) on the south end of town.  It went from $2.75 to $3.21 (a mere 0.46 up).

In Fairlee, Vermont, prices were at $2.53 per gallon Tuesday evening. Wednesday evening they had jumped to $3.15 per gallon.

Yes, I know, this is from someone else's blog, but you've got to read the story.

[livejournal.com profile] thedegnans had a wonderful time at the pump yesterday (http://www.livejournal.com/users/thedegnans/203688.html). Cops and all.

Seen on CNN last night:

A gas station in Atlanta, GA, which had bumped its price for regular (87 octane) to $6.00 a gallon.
