Well, in spite of the Police, we did our job today

and you all can see that the sun actually came up on May 1st (even as the weather reports insisted it wouldn't).

The Foggs and Creekers danced the sun up as per tradition at our usual spot every year at the gazebo in Takoma Park. Today was slightly different, as somehow the cops decided to take seriously some phone calls complaining about the noise, and around 7 came to shut us down. 16 years and no complaints, and today they get "hundreds" (or so the cop said; we think he's exagerating, of course). Go fig.

Anyways, it didn't seem to hurt as the sun came up anyways. Later, the tower apartment next door got some bad karma (something going on inside that required closing down the street, with about 5 firetrucks, 1 ambulance, and several cop cars around); we think it was the morris gods being pissed off at the complainer...or at least, that's our story and we're sticking to it.

Library of Congress gig (dancing a 90 min Morris celebration for Dr. Tony Barrand, folklorist who's donating his archives to the library) went great. Pub stop was cool (just late enough in the afternoon that we weren't competing with the regular lunch crowd to eat). Now: sunburned and dead tired...and only a day's rest b4 I dance again (though not nearly as early or intensely).
