Do only two things remain now?

Marco Rubio's RNC speech (text, video) - Politico Staff - POLITICO.com:
faith in our Creator is the most important American value of all.
Obama Campaign 2008:
"Hope"
1 Corinthians 13 NIV 1984:
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
Somehow, neither side seems to actually follow the Bible there, I think.

perhaps. Yes, Obama's 'Hope' was not chosen for any religious reasons, and any reflection on religion in the Democratic Party's side is solely because the Republicans have decided that Article VI, Paragraph 3 simply doesn't exist.

But it is reflective of my attitude that the Democrats should NOT attempt to answer "God" with "God". Bad enough that one side wants to call what's going on a Holy War - the way to win it is to not fight that front, because the reasonable (educated) middle will call them on their own cherry-picking as much as they'll call the Right on it, and that would lose the one demographic they absolutely need to keep the nutcases from just taking over everything.

The Republicans are waiting on Love until they can get a constitutional amendment defining it in terms Jerry Falwell would approve of. Or until video surfaces from the strip clubs in Tampa that they have to explain...
