The problem with the Oregon County thing today...
The problem is that it is attempting to force a quick decision by the legislature, and that quick decision is going to be under the same emtional impulse that got MA to redo their constution within weeks and is the same impulse that Bush is trying to take advantage of.
the gay marriage issue can only be resolved by stretching it out, by giving the borderlines and moderates time to adjust to the idea and give a rational response to it as being "not a bad thing after all".
it takes time to get people to fix a problem. it only takes a single quick impulsive decision to create one.
